How do I get into the broadcasting industry?

We'd suggest looking at our 'You're new to the industry' or our 'Apprenticeships and Internships' pages, which are designed for people who want a career in the industry as it gives lots of tips and advice from our team at Viacom.

I want to become a presenter, can you help?

We don’t hire presenters through our standard recruitment channels. There is no clear entry path into presenting, but generally you'll need to forward a showreel to production companies/casting agents to get your first break.

Can I become a runner?

For runner experience, we'd suggest you keep an eye on our jobs pages for new opportunities. There's also some other useful weblinks to other sites that may help on our Talent Hub pages. Also, try and gain as much behind the scenes production experience as you can via volunteering, work experience etc - it all helps!

I’m looking for work experience, can you help?

We do offer work experience placements, due to the limited number and demand these are currently sourced through local schools and colleges, and the local community. Our Intern and Apprenticeship schemes are however available to direct application.

I’m interested in Internships

Any live internship opportunities will be posted on the job pages, so it's worth checking the site for updates; our One Big Year placements are available to apply to early in the year.

I’ve filled out my application but can’t submit it

Your application will be in draft stage until it is fully completed - you need to complete all the sections, including the equal opportunities and contact telephone number sections, and tick the 'mark this section as complete' box in all the sections. Once you have done this, you'll see an option to submit your application - this will appear on the main page.

When should I expect to hear back about my application?

Once you have successfully submitted your application you will receive an email acknowledgement confirming receipt; when your application has been processed you will receive an email and, if successful, taken to the next stage of the application process.

Is there an email/contact so I can send you my CV?

We wouldn't be able to accept speculative applications unfortunately, as in the interests of fairness we only allow for applications to be submitted via the Viacom Talent site when there is a specific opportunity available. Keep an eye on our jobs page for any new opportunities.

Do you accept candidates from overseas?

We do accept applicants from outside of the UK!

Can I apply as a foreign national and get sponsored?

Subject to any requirements which may be imposed by the UK Border Agency, our shortlisting is based on merit alone, so you are indeed welcome to apply.

Can you promote my music video/project or look at my showreel?

We're not able to promote projects or look at showreels, our Viacom Talent pages are for advertising job roles and placement opportunities for Viacom International Media Networks UK & Ireland.

I have an idea for a TV show, can you help?

We don’t deal with the television shows or music production, so unfortunately we don't look at resumes or demos or deal with pitch ideas.

I'm disabled, can I apply?

Of course! If you’ve got the skills and experience to do the job and have a passion to work in TV then we want you to apply.

If you have any problems in applying because of your impairment or condition then please let us know by emailing disability@vimn.com or calling 0207 555 1234.

We want you be to able to compete on an equal basis with non-disabled applicants, so if you need any adjustments or support during recruitment please tell us in the application form. You can also opt into our guaranteed interview scheme if you meet the minimum criteria for the role.

If you’re successful in your application and we make you an offer we will then discuss with you any adjustments you might need in the job.
